2005 MFA alumna Ruth Gregory’s short documentary "A Dose for Dominic" has been selected to be part of the fourth season of PBS series Reel Northwest, which airs in Washington. The 2013 film is about a couple’s decision to treat their severely autistic 5 year-old son, Dominic, with medical cannabis. The film will be part of the series’ fourth season. Gregory produced a short film entitled "I Saw U" in 2010, which was part of Reel Northwest’s first season line-up, and screened at the 2011 Athens International Film Festival.
"A Dose for Dominic" premiered at the 2013 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, and won the "Best Use of Theme" award as part of the International Documentary Challenge. The film was also a finalist at Local Sightings in Seattle, and will be screened in February at the 2014 Big Sky Film Festival in Montana. It is in submission at other film festivals as well.
