In June, a student film crew from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Theater, Film and Television traveled to Somerset, Ohio for 10-day, thesis film production. The UCLA crew worked with Ohio University second-year MFA student Matt Herbertz and first-year MFA student Dylan Dyer. Herbertz worked as assistant director, while Dyer worked as assistant camera.
"Marie" is a dramatic film directed by UCLA student Jonathan King. The film follows a young girl within a religious community who has her first experience in music. The story's inspiration comes from King's upbringing in the region, where a large pipe organ had been built and assembled using various salvaged parts and musical pieces over the course of a few decades.
