This October, the Ohio University political science department will host a free screening of “Blueberry Soup” along with a discussion with the filmmaker, Eileen Jerrett. “Blueberry Soup” is a documentary about Iceland’s attempt to crowd-source a national constitution, the first attempt of its kind in the world. Following the global financial crisis of 2008, a group of citizens relied on social media and the power of the people to reconstruct and rebuild Iceland’s core values, vision and beliefs as a nation in pursuit of developing a new democracy.
“Blueberry Soup” is the first film featured in the department-hosted series. It will take place on Mon., Oct. 6th at 7:00pm at the Athena Cinema on S. Court St. Free popcorn and soda will also be provided.
This event is sponsored by the Department of Political Science; Center for Law, Culture & Justice/Making and Breaking the Law; Division of Film; and the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program.
