Corey Howell was born and raised in Inez, a small town in the hills of Eastern Kentucky. From 2009 until 2013, he studied at Georgetown College where he worked on various film projects, wrote for and helped to edit the student newspaper and spent a semester abroad studying at Oxford University before graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature while minoring in Biology and Chemistry. He is inspired by the works of David Lynch and David Cronenberg among others and is fascinated by the human body and the extremes to which it can be pushed, as well as the inky, oozing blackness that bubbles under the surface of seemingly idyllic small towns.
